Maynor Figueroa is back in Wigan to start a second loan spell with Latics.
The Honduras left-back has joined Steve Bruce's men for the season from Deportivo Olimpia and links up with the first-team squad on Monday when they return from Austria.
Figueroa will push for a regular place in the team this term after using his four-month stay last season to find his feet in the English game.

He made only two Premier League appearances then, as a late substitute against Birmingham in April and then a start in the final-day clash with Manchester United.
But the 25-year-old really caught the eye against United and Latics negotiated to bring him back this season.

The loan is with a view to a permanent transfer, a route favoured by Bruce when it comes to signing players from abroad.
Figueroa will compete with Kevin Kilbane for the left-back slot in the early months of the campaign.

And by late autumn, it should become a three-way battle when Erik Edman makes his expected return from surgery to repair knee ligament damage.
Latics had hoped to complete Figueroa's deal slightly earlier than this week, but the player had to apply for a work permit and visa which took time.

Fortunately he didn't have the same problems which blocked Olimpia team-mate Hendry Thomas' move to the JJB Stadium earlier in the month.
Thomas was refused a work permit because he hadn't played the sufficient number of competitive senior international games for Honduras.
