An elderly woman was rescued by firefighters after slipping in the bath.

Fire crews were called to Wellington Street in Scholes, Wigan, at 8.15pm on Saturday night to help paramedics remove the woman from the property.

She suffered injuries to her hip and foot and was taken to hospital for treatment.
