Gallery: Wigan village hosts crazy duck race

A Wigan village hosted its annual duck race event which saw families enjoy a fun-packed day

Around 2,000 rubber toys “raced” along the canal from Heron’s Wharf, Appley Bridge.

The event formed part of the Appley Bridge Festival which included stalls, food and drink outlets, live music and children’s entertainment.

The family-friendly festival takes place every two years and is popular with both villagers and visitors.
