Watch manager Andy Doel said: "We tried quickly to pull the frame of the car back to hook the keys out of the car, but it wasn't working and I was conscious there was a two-year-old baby in a red hot car, so I ended up breaking the window."
Fortunately the tot was not hurt in the incident.
Mr Doel added: "She was a little bit upset because she didn't know what all the commotion was and she was getting a bit hot, but when we get her out we did a quick assessment.
"She was warm so we got a cold wet towel on her to cool her down and got her some water. She was just a little bit upset, nothing more."
